Join UIRA in May for our first-ever “road trip” program to Des Moines. The day will feature a guided tour of The Harkin Institute and a visit to the new Ballet Des Moines studios, showcasing how these organizations are working together to expand access to arts programming for differently-abled communities.

Participants will also have time to explore Des Moines cultural highlights on their own, including the Pappajohn Sculpture Park and the Des Moines Art Center.

For those who enjoy a great love story, the trip will conclude with a performance of Prokofiev’s Cinderella at the Des Moines Civic Center, featuring Ballet Des Moines and the Des Moines Symphony. Discounted rooms at the Surety Hotel will be available for a limited number of Cinderella ticket holders, and at least one UIRA social gathering is being planned as part of the trip.
