Bram Elias is the director of the University of Iowa College of Law’s immigration law clinic. His students represent clients in immigration proceedings and in state and federal judicial proceedings affecting immigrants' rights, and work with organizational clients engaged in advocacy related to immigration law and policy. Bram originally co-taught with immigration clinic founder Professor Barbara Schwartz, and took over as director after her retirement in 2015. Before joining the clinic, he clerked for Judge Dorothy Nelson of the Ninth Circuit and Judge Denise Casper of the District of Massachusetts and worked in private practice as an immigration attorney in Iowa City.
