This presentation discusses the history of women’s athletics at the University of Iowa and will celebrate the career of Dr. Christine Grant as a leader in the advancement of equality in women’s sport at Iowa and nationally.

Paula Jantz joined the University of Iowa Athletics Department in 1980 and retired in 2017 as senior associate director of athletics. As senior women’s administrator, she was responsible for individual sport supervision, personnel supervision, and management of various units within the department. She also was responsible for athletic event management of all Iowa home sporting contests, including NCAA and Big Ten championships held on campus. She worked with Dr. Christine Grant until Grant’s retirement in 2000.
